Dear Families,

The slide shows below will give you some idea of the variety of different learning activities we have enjoyed recently.
The dioramas were wonderful and both the 5th and 6th grades wanted to come in for their own private show.
We started reading from our Poetry Packets and will begin working in earnest so we are ready for our Middle School Poetry Assembly in November.
We have worked with different atlases in Social Studies, finding different locations using latitude and longitude.
We played a math bingo game using prime & composite numbers and had some quiet reading time in the Learning Commons.
Our Math Mindset class this week focused on all the different ways there are to read/group the number 7. There is no one right way to do that, my drawings show the different patterns each student recognized to get to 7. & finally, some fun weeding in the garden!

Our trip to OMI today included a wonderful art activity (see photos below) and a terrific walk in the woods visiting some of their spectacular outside sculpture. Thank you to Sasha Sicurella for arranging that trip.

For those of you celebrating the New Year, Shanah Tova!
Best, Katharine

Note: PIZZA FRIDAY, this Friday the 22nd!
