The cost of tuition at BCD is an investment, and the value of an independent school education is a gift to your child that will last a lifetime. Pre-Kindergarten through Eighth Grade families should not hesitate to apply for admission because of constrained finances. BCD’s Finance Committee determines a family’s contribution using the standardized calculation derived by the School and recommendations from School and Student Services (SSS) by Community Brands for financial aid. Many items are considered, including gross taxable income, assets and liabilities, age of parents, family size, number of students in tuition-charging schools, etc.

Nearly 30% of the students at Berkshire Country Day School receive some amount of Tuition Assistance.

BCD uses the School and Students Services (SSS) Tuition Assistance application for families should be completed on-line here. BCD’s school code is 1606.

BCD requires additional information in the form of all tax forms and schedules, and BCD’s calculated parent contribution may differ from the SSS calculation. For example, BCD will disallow depreciation and most losses on second homes, investment properties, and hobby businesses. BCD will also consider the potential for income to be earned by a non-working parent who does not have small children at home. In addition to completing the Tuition Assistance application mentioned, a copy of your  IRS 1040 latest tax returns with all schedules and attachments, W-2 forms, and Business/Farm Statement, if applicable, must be filed with BCD. To ensure equal consideration, all families requesting financial aid must follow the same procedure.
