Courtney Hunt’s latest feature film, The Whole Truth, a courtroom thriller starring Keanu Reeves and Renee Zellweger will be released in 2016.

Her first feature film, Frozen River, starring Melissa Leo, won the Grand Jury Prize at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival and was released by Sony Pictures Classics in August of 2008. The film received widespread critical acclaim for its social realism and air tight suspense. Courtney was awarded Best First Film by the New York Film Critics Circle, and Best Debut Director by the National Board of Review.

In 2009, Courtney was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for Frozen River and her lead actress, Melissa Leo was nominated for Best Actress.

Her upcoming projects include a remake of an Italian romantic thriller, The Double Hour, and Elfie Neary, a Lower East Side romance that takes place in 1904, which she wrote and will direct.She has also directed episodes of HBO’s series, In Treatment starring Gabriel Byrne, and Law & Order SVU.

She holds a masters of fine arts from Columbia University where her thesis film, Althea Faught, a Civil War short, was awarded the New Line prize and was sold to PBS. She also holds a law degree from Northeastern University.

She currently lives in Columbia County with her husband, lawyer and producer Donald Harwood.
