The Parents’ Association is excited to sponsor a presentation designed to help our children navigate the cyber world. Please join us in welcoming Dr. Elizabeth Englander, who will provide concrete tips and practical knowledge about this important issue.

Dr. Englander will meet with BCD faculty and students in Grades 6- 9. She will also deliver a presentation which all BCD parents are welcomed and encouraged to attend.

We welcome you to join us:

Thursday, April 27
8:15-9:30am
The Kevin Hirt Library and Learning Commons

Dr. Englander’s goal – and ours – is to help kids learn to control their devices instead of letting their devices control them. During the presentation, Dr Englander will:
•    review the newest apps
•    discuss general cyber behavior
•    explain the underlying issues that cause problems in many online forums
•    share strategies for coaching and talking to kids about cyber-related issues, including social problems like bullying and cyberbullying
•    present practical steps that parents can take to help avoid conflict with children over social media and technology use

We hope you’ll join us!

Dr. Englander is the Director of the Massachusetts Aggression Reduction Center at Bridgewater State University. She is a nationally recognized researcher and expert in the area of bullying and cyberbulling, childhood causes of aggression and abuse, and children’s use of technology.
