For the past few weeks in the library, third graders have been enjoying Andrew Clements’ novel, No Talking. This realistic, yet fictitious story centers around a group of rowdy fifth graders at Laketon Elementary School who have been nicknamed, “The Unshushables”, by their exasperated teachers. When a contest between the boys and girls in the fifth grade ensues, each time must find creative ways to express themselves both in school and at home. Talking is off limits. Today in the library, we concluded our reading of No Talking, and students had an opportunity for book browsing and checkout. Happy Reading and Happy Holidays!
