First Grade’s Young Authors Ceremony
First graders celebrated the publishing of their storybooks in a special ceremony held in Furey Hall last Thursday. Each student received a certificate for the book they wrote and illustrated. On display were works from Tom O’Neil’s Painting class, individual portfolios from Jenny Wright’s Graphic Design class, a wooden porch swing made by the Shop Class under the direction of Laura Gratz, photos by Marilyn Cromwell’s Photography class, and works created from the Minimalism and the Work of Sol Lewitt class taught by Mrs. Cromwell and Mr. Perkins.
End of School Family Picnic
This Thursday we will gather as a school community to celebrate the end of the school year with a special assembly and family picnic. All families are welcome to join us in Fitzpatrick Hall at 11:30 a.m. for the Closing Assembly and then afterwards for the family picnic. Don’t forget to bring a blanket and pack a picnic lunch. Ice cream and Popsicles will be provided. In addition, please remember that for safety reasons, no pets are allowed on campus and the pond will be closed.
Parent Feedback Survey
This week, all BCD families will receive an email link to participate in an end-of–the-year survey about BCD. Periodically, we like to solicit feedback from parents on what you seek for your child educationally and how well we are delivering. We are planning to do so through an online parent satisfaction survey created by the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) and customized for our use. When you receive the link in your email, please help us by taking 15-20 minutes out of your busy schedule to complete by June 22. Thank you for your participation.
