This month’s 1:1 topic is BCD’s teachers.
Our teachers know and care about your children. Like you, they take pride in watching them explore, discover, grow and achieve. They look for ways to make learning fun, interesting, meaningful and engaging.
In what way has a BCD teacher had a significant impact on your child?

Kathy Clausen has made learning fun! She is an attentive, thorough, thoughtful, and responsive teacher. Our daughter loves every day at school. For both of our years at BCD she has enjoyed learning from each one of her engaging and bright teachers.
There is no way we can single out one teacher. Jack is blessed with amazing teachers. We moved to the Berkshires from Los Angeles this past summer. This is Jack’s first year at BCD. Even though Jack was at a wonderful school in California he hated going to school. He now loves school. It’s all because of his teachers and the love, support and inspiration they give him. Mr. Fawcett is inspiring Jack to love reading and storytelling. Jack loves his humor. Mr. Gore has capitalized on Jack’s innate love of Science and without his participation Jack would never have gone on the Nature’s Classroom Trip. He loved that trip. Mrs. Meyer has ignited an interest in History that Jack didn’t even know he had. After only a few months Jack actually can speak French because of Madame Whalen. He uses French words at home.
Mr. Perkins has patiently guided Jack from insecurity to a growing sense of mastery in Math. PE is fun because of Mrs.
Heady and Jack loves shop and book club with Mrs. Piasecki.
His homeroom is always a cozy place to be with Mrs. Cromwell, Mrs. Siegel, and Mrs. Piasecki. Jack used to hate to read. Now he rarely goes anywhere without a book. Thank you Mr. Uhas. The Gibsons are very grateful to all of Jack’s teachers and to BCD for being such a supportive and inspiring home for our son! Thank you all! Cynthia Wick and Channing Gibson (Jack’s mom and dad)
