What a class of stars! The Kindergartners truly shone at their Poetry Assembly! We spent our week rehearsing, making costumes, dramatizing, polishing, and having a lot of fun in the process. The class was so ready to perform, and their excitement was heightened when they saw their parents, grandparents, special friends, teachers, and PreSchool friends appear. They were comfortable and natural up on stage and spoke clearly and confidently. It was a wonderful experience for all (including me!)
One highlight happened yesterday afternoon, after the class received their Poetry Pages. Sitting together as a group, looking at the illustrations, and with no prompting from me, they then proceeded to read and recite together the poems all over again. Awesome!
Yes, we also snuck in some writing and math and language arts during the week, too, but we were very focused on the Assembly, and hope you enjoyed it.
Have a great weekend!
The assembly was very special…thank you for all of your hard work. I was so surprised by how many poems the children learned and then by the poetry book which came home. What a treasure, they are surely off on the right foot for a life long love of poetry.
