I write to announce that the March vacation will end one day earlier than planned, and we will have a full day of school on Monday, March 28, 2011 instead of the planned faculty in-service day.
With our sixth snow day on Monday, March 7, we have exceeded the five snow days built into the calendar. Our policy directs us to make up that day before the end of the school year. With the ever present possibility of an April snowstorm, it is best to make up this sixth snow day sooner rather than later.
We recognize that some families may have made plans for the March vacation that cannot be changed, and that it may not be possible for their child(ren) to attend school on March 28. If this is the case, please notify Paul Frantz, Carmen Dockery Perkins, or me as soon as possible. It has been an atypical winter this year, and the uncertain weather has thwarted many plans and the normalcy of our routines. Thank you in advance for your understanding.
Families that have paid in advance for our Vacation Camp on March 28 will be issued a refund. Our regular Afterschool Program will be in session from 3:00-5:30 PM on Monday, March 28.
Please note that the spring co-curricular programs beginning that week, Upper School Varsity Lacrosse and Upper School Film and 7th Grade Theater, will still begin on Tuesday, March 29. Our Middle School programs will still begin on Monday, April 4.
