This week in the library, Second Grade concluded its reading of Benvenuto.  Seymour Reit’s novel about a boy, Paolo Bruno,  who returns from summer camp in upstate New York with a dragon he found in the woods,  is a tale of compassion and humor. Though residents of Paolo’s Greenich Village neighborhood aren’t too rattled by the presence of the dragon, Benvenuto’s adventures certainly capture the attention of the NYPD, the Human Society, the Central Park Zoo and the mayor of New York. Next week, we will challenge our comprehension and storytelling skills as we play a trivia game with questions taken from the plot of this book. We concluded our library class with book browsing and checkout. Happy Reading!
