Please get out your calendar and save the date for Berkshire Country Day School’s annual fundraiser for financial aid. A new signature event for BCD, “ArtSoirée,” will take place on Saturday, May 7, 2011. This year, “ArtSoirée” will be held in the beautiful barn and gallery space at Stonover Farm in Lenox, which has been graciously donated to BCD for this premier event. Current, past, and future BCD parents, community members and friends will be invited to enjoy live music, fine food, drink, and desserts while bidding at both a silent and live auction featuring the varied and expressive works of many of our own community members and friends of BCD.
BCD provides financial aid to over 25% of its 210 students, enabling children from Berkshire and Columbia counties to attend. During the current economic crisis, the School has experienced a 40% increase in need, and it has responded to this need by increasing the funds for aid. All proceeds from “Art Soiree” will directly support the School’s financial aid fund.
Co-chairs Donna Kittredge and Marianna Poutasse (pictured) have assembled a spectacular committee of over twenty talented and creative parents (several are down the hall as I type!). Everyone is busy at work, and this year’s event promises to be a spectacular celebration!
