Hi Everyone,

This will be our last Parent Newsletter of the school year.  We cannot believe there is only 2 1/2 days of the school year to go!  This week was very busy and very fun.  Earlier in the week we used fabric markers to decorate painters hats which we wore “to block the sun” on Fun and Field Day.  The funny thing is that they were actually blocking the sprinkles at one point!  Thankfully, later in the day when it was time for some splashing around in our pool, the sun really did come out.  As I shared in my e mail to you, we had a really great time.  Here are some pics of the day:

Mrs. Clausen was kind enough to record the Compassion Assembly dedicated to Mrs. Frantz.  I have posted a link to this video for your enjoyment on the blog.

I would like to thank Viv Caputo for helping us this week and next in Joni’s absence.  We would also like to thank those of you who have been able to prepare meals for Joni and her family.  She continues to recover, but at last she is at home.  We did phone her earlier this week and we sent her the following pic on her email:

I would also like to thank Loris Mullins and Viv for taking the class this Friday, as I was called away for a family matter of my own.

We will be having a Preschool Celebration for Preschool children and their families at 11:00am on the Wednesday, June 13th, the last day of school.  The children will sing a couple of songs for you and we will present them with special Preschool certificates.  Please plan on joining us for this special day.  Closing Ceremonies for the entire school will follow at around 11:30am in Fitzpatrick Hall and the All School Family Picnic will commence at 12noon.  You may want to lay out your picnic blanket a bit early to claim a good spot on the lawn after our Preschool Ceremony.  Families should also bring their own picnic and beverages.  Ice Cream Sandwiches will be handed out, as always, by Mr. B and Mr. Lee.  Please remember to send in a drink and snack for earlier in the morning.

Important Reminders:

  • Please be sure to send in a refillable drink container for us to fill with water.  In our efforts to be green, we try to refrain from using plastic cups.
  • Please be sure to send appropriate flatware in your child’s lunch.
  • A variety of snack items is encouraged for young growing children.
  • Please be sure to return Library books

Dates to remember:

        • Wednesday, June 13th, Last day of classes, 11:00am, Preschool Celebration for Preschool families;   11:30am, Closing Ceremonies and Thank-You’s to Class Parents; 12noon,  All School Family Picnic, families are invited to bring a blanket and a picnic lunch for your family.  1:00pm all school dismissal
