Today in the library, PreK met David, a boy about their age who makes some questionable choices. No, David! is author David Shannon’s autobiographical and Caldecott Honor-Award-Winning picture book that makes us giggle AND think about the choices we make and have made. It also allows us to explore what we really want to do, but know we should not (draw on the wall, wear muddy shoes in the house, play baseball in the living room.) Building upon David’s actions and consequences, we shared the follow-up books, David Gets in Trouble and David Goes to School.
