Hello Families!

We had a wonderfully fun short week with everyone.  We traveled to Letterland and met Sammy Snake who likes to sit in the sun!  He is careful to not burn by slathering on sun cream and wearing a sunhat and sunglasses!  Sammy also likes to swim, eat sandwiches and snooze in the shade. We will continue to talk about Sammy and his /s/ sound next week.

Thursday was Ray’s Star Day!!  Ray brought in a bag of toys and knick knacks to share with his friens along with some fun family pictures.  His mom, Ange, and sisters Anna and  Claire and Claires friend Boom Bee, all joined us for a special Morning Meeting.  While Ray was unpacking his bag the girls sang: “These are a few of Rays favorite things!”  We learned that Ray has a St. Bernard named Madeline, was born on a sunny summer day in August and that his favorite food is pizza!  When Ray and his family were on vacation in Maine, he had fun playing in the sand and jumping over the waves.  When he was a baby he liked taking strolls in downtown Lenox and now that he is older he likes to look for frogs and play baseball.  Ange read sections of the book: You are the First Kid on Mars, by Patrick O’Brien, one of Rays favorite stories.  She also sent in yummy blue frosted cupcakes.  Happy Star Day Ray!

We spent some much needed time out side playing in the snow!  The children explored the crunchy snow and the soft snow and even found some snow banks to slide down.  Many children discovered that they could easliy make it “across” the monkey bars, as their feet could still touch the ground.

Some  Books we read this week:

All Aboard the Dinotrain, by Deb Lund

This is the House that Jack Built, by Simms Taback

Important Reminders:
Water bottles are encouraged, as we can refill them when needed.
Library Books need to be returned on Fridays.
**Please remember to enter the classroom via the Coat room and everyone please remove wet shoes and boots before entering the classrooms. **This way our floors will stay dry, as we sit on them.  Thank you!
Please send items to be heated up in a container that can be microwaved.  If you do not have such a container, you may send a separate bowl or small plate with your child’s lunch.
Please remember that items that contain nuts, peanuts, pesto or sesame oil and need to be heated up, are labeled so that we can do so in an alternate microwave, as our Preschool/Kindergarten kitchen is nut-free.
Please be sure your child has a snowsuit or snow-pants, hat, boots, gloves or mittens, and a warm jacket, as we try to go out everyday to play in the snow; also a complete change of clothes is needed.
