Hi Everyone,
We thought you might like to see some photos of BCD’s Annual Soup Day. It was a very exciting, joyous and large time with everyone in our community all in one space. To decorate our tables we glued feathers on to pine cones and added a head, a beak, eyes and a waddle. I sent them home with the children along with their traced hand turkeys to decorate your celebrations. At Soup, I was able to visit with students I had more than ten years ago. It is unbelievable how fast time seems to fly by and what incredible young men and women these students have become. The Pre K children and the B3 children were thrilled to find the pasta they contributed. They also spied tomatoes, celery, carrots, summer squash, potatoes, beans and zucchini. It was delicious! Just about everyone tried it! The rolls were also a big hit. For dessert, we enjoyed apples and clementines. Thank you to all of the parents who helped make this day so special.
On Monday we celebrated our first Star Day. Duncan’s mother, Cate, and the B3s joined us for a special Morning Meeting. His family also includes his dad, David. We learned that when Duncan was a baby, he liked to play matching games. Now that he is four, he likes playing with Lego’s, blocks and Tinker Toys. His favorite foods include ice cream, strawberries, raspberries, pears, apples and pumpkins! While on vacation at Martha’s Vinyard, Duncan liked jumping in the waves with his cousins. His photo board included pictures of Duncan when he was a tiny baby and his mom, dad, grandmother and cousins. It also included some of his favorite art projects and a collection of animal pictures. Cate also read us the story “Blueberries for Sal,” by Robert McCloskey. For snack we enjoyed a special treat of popcorn and after lunch, Duncan shared delicious chocolate cupcakes with vanilla frosting. Happy Star Day and Happy Birthday, Duncan!
