We’ve had a quiet and relaxing week (at least it seemed that way, compared to all the frenzy of last week!) We had a lot of fun with math this week, using long rolls of paper to write numbers to at least 100 (one student even got as far as the 300’s!) We also made progress in Project Read. With the introduction of short /e/ today, we have one letter left for next week. Since January, each child has been creating an alphabet book. These are almost completed and you’ll see them soon.
We’ve begun our final unit, this one on the Rainforest. We’ve just started reading about the different layers that exist and next week we’ll start exploring the different creatures that live in each layer.
We had a great final Lunch Bunch on Thursday. Keely and Rochelle planned a tea party for us! We enjoyed pinwheel sandwiches, fruit kebabs, scones, and cookies. Everyone also got a real cup and saucer, which they were able to take home. What an elegant way to dine! Thank you, Rochelle and Keely, for such a fun lunch!
We all enjoyed the final Music Concert of the year on Friday, which included LS, MS and US chorus, MS and US band, as well as a guitar ensemble, chamber music trio, and other small instrumental groups. It was a concert filled with lots of good harmony and energy – a wonderful way to end the week.
Have a great weekend!
