Today, Kindergarten explored our school-wide theme of peace in the library. Together, we shared the young reader’s edition of Listen to the Wind: The Story of Dr. Greg and Three Cups of Tea. This enchantingly-illustrated chronicle of Greg Mortenson’s first building project in Pakistan, details one man’s mission to promote peace in Asia and teach the world about how one ordinary person can change the world. We built upon this theme by discussing symbols and concepts of peace, and then reading, Let There Be Peace on Earth and Let It Begin with Me, the literary version of the classic peace anthem written in 1955 by Jill Jackson and Sy Miller.
