We are proud to announce that 9th grader Andrea V. has been recognized for her service to the BCD community during her time at the School. Every year, the Lenox School for Boys Alumni Association makes a donation to BCD in the name of a 9th grade student who has demonstrated tremendous leadership and selflessly served the school community. Andrea has embodied these qualities in all that she has contributed during her many years as a student at BCD.
BCD’s home began on the Lenox School for Boys’ campus on the grounds of what is today Shakespeare & Company, a place where Jim Fawcett began his teaching career. His students remember him fondly and members of the Lenox School for Boys’ Alumni Association created a service award in Mr. Fawcett’s name. Each year, representatives from the Alumni Association arrive on BCD’s campus to reconnect with their beloved teacher and to recognize the deserving student BCD has elected.
The Lenox School for Boys’ motto is “To serve, not to be served.” We feel that Andrea embodies this motto beautifully in everything she does at BCD. She is a selfless young woman who gives generously of her time in many areas of school life, including during class, on the athletic field, at St. Stephen’s Table, on Student Council, and as a peer mentor to all. Andrea knows and makes each student on BCD’s campus feel special, from the youngest B3’s preschoolers on through the grades. She is a solid leader in our senior class and a respected and esteemed classmate.
Congratulations, Andrea!
