First Grade Science

First Graders have been busy in Science this past trimester!

As part of our Soils unit, students  took a closer look at soil and learned that soil is made up of clay, sand and humus (organic matter). They looked at how these three materials affect drainage/water absorption and plant growth.

 Students also engaged in a short unit on electricity. They explored static electricity, solar power and made simple circuits.
