I am pleased to announce that Amy Elmore has accepted my offer to join the Berkshire Country Day School administration as our next full-time Director of Development. Amy is currently the Director of Stewardship and Communications at The Thacher School in Ojai, CA, where she has also served as the Director of Annual Giving and Constituent Relations and as the Research and Grants Coordinator. Prior to her work at The Thacher School during the past seven years, Amy worked as the Program Manager at the Northwest Children’s Fund in Seattle, WA, and as an Assistant Outreach Coordinator at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. Amy received a B.S. degree from Trinity University and a M.A. in Not-for-Profit Leadership from Seattle University.
Amy’s track record at Thacher has been impressive. The Annual Fund grew three-fold, revenue from annual fundraising events increased 400%, and she participated in a Capital Campaign that raised over $82 million. A skillful communicator, she has experience with strategic planning, designing promotional materials and case statements, grant writing, publishing annual reports and school magazines, recruiting and supporting volunteers, website design, film production, and managing major gift prospects.
I am most appreciative of the time and thoughtfulness of the many members of the BCD community who participated in the search process including the administrative team, Development Associate Joanne DelCarpine, consultant Joe Hornick, and trustees Claire Pollart (Board President), Paige Orloff (Board Development Committee Co-Chair), and Marianna Poutasse (2010-2011 Annual Fund Co-Chair).
An avid runner and yoga practitioner, Amy and her family enjoy camping and music, and their extended families reside in Boston and New York State. Please join me in welcoming Amy and her family when they move from Ojai, CA to the Berkshires in July.
Paul. Yippee. Another Californian.
Congratulations to all involved in the selection process. Sound like you’ve added a real pro to the team.
FANTASTIC!!! I look forward to seeing how BCD can continue to grow as a gift-supported community!
Thank you to all involved in finding and securing Amy Elmore as the new Director of Development at BCD. After many years of hard work, our school finally has a Dev. Dept. that truly understands and supports the mission of BCD. I am sure Amy will guide us to the next level and achieve the goals you have set. Welcome and all the best.
