I write to share the news that Director of Development and Communications Maxine Carter-Lome recently notified me that she would not be returning to BCD at the close of her current contract at the end of January 2011. Maxine has been with BCD for three and a half years overseeing the launch of our marketing and communications initiatives and redirecting the school’s development programs. With hard work and determination, she has established in these areas a solid foundation for us to build upon in the future.
Maxine has been a steadfast contributor to many strategic planning initiatives and a relied upon member of the administrative team. She has actively attended to the goals of her colleagues and to promoting the school’s programs. I am grateful for all of her contributions to BCD and feel that she has much to be proud of.

Berkshire Country Day School, located in the heart of the Berkshires in Stockbridge, MA, seeks an experienced and dynamic individual to direct and move forward the School’s development program and initiatives. The Director has primary responsibility for designing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy; leading the development and alumni relations activities; and organizing the School’s next campaign program. Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree and several years of demonstrated experience in development in schools. Reporting to the Head of School, the Director will work in close collaboration with the Board of Trustees, senior administrative team, and volunteer leadership. The ideal candidate will excel at developing relationships with the school community and the greater community. Excellent communications skills are required.
