We had a terrific week!  Tuesday we ventured to the Berkshire Museum to learn about Math in Motion, Wednesday we enjoyed time with our peer readers, we painted and went on a Spring walk, Thursday we had a great time working with gooey glue!

During our trip to the Berkshire Museum, we learned all about force, volume, gravity, friction and greater than, less than.  we learned about all of this and more through the use of simple toys and our bodies.  We also had time to explore the snakes, turtles and fish and also dig for dino bones!   What a great way to spend the morning.  Thank you to all the chaperone’s.

Wednesday we started our morning with our peer readers.  All of children enjoy spending time with one another.  The second graders are getting so good at reading. Later in the morning we painted with blue paint.  Some children chose to paint tubes and paper.  These blue creations are on display in the lunch room.  After Gym, we went on a walk around campus.  There are maple trees withbuckets collecting sap and boy was it running!  The children all got up close and saw how quickly the clear sap was dripping into the silver buckets.  The older grades are collecting it for boiling later this month.

Thursday we worked with various dried beans and gooey glue.  The children worked on placing a dot of glue and placing a bean on the dot.  They really made some beautiful art!  These will be dry by the time we return from vacation.
