The Art Studios are alive with creative energy! Upper School students are exploring all kinds of mediums and processes through vastly different offerings this term. Ben Evans’ “Focus on Function” ceramics class uses functional tableware styles from around the world to inspire students to create their own pieces with hand building and wheel-working techniques. Color theory is the focus of Max Spitzer’s painting class which is followed by his sculpture class that centers around mold-making and plaster work. New teaching artist Dana Piazza (‘o6 BCD2S) leads “Conceptual Drawing” where students are using Sumi inks and special drawing tools to create abstract drawings driven by self-authored instructions.
