What do Hotchkiss, Deerfield, Horace Mann, Groton, Berkshire, Choate, Pittsfield High, Riverdale Country Day, Westover, Proctor, St. Ann’s, Andover, Millbrook, Miss Hall’s, Monument Mountain, Northfield Mount Herman, Emma Willard, Middlesex, Milton, Concord, Friends Seminary, Holderness, Trinity, Buckingham Browne & Nichols, Nobles and Greenough, Lenox Memorial, Putney, and Fieldston all have in common? They all want students from Berkshire Country Day School to enroll and contribute to the quality of their educational environment and community next year.
It is clear to me that the source of our greatest pride in Berkshire Country Day School is found in our students. Smart, engaged, capable, and prepared – each has met with great success and achievement in the classroom, on our teams, in arts ensembles, and as involved community members, mentors, and classmates. As individuals, each has found their voice, approached learning and life with integrity, acquired the skill of being a self-advocate, and has a good sense of who they are and what they want to pursue. Because each of our students has experienced how they are a part of a larger group experience, each understands the value of contributing within an intentional community with a strong sense of shared values and how to invest in the success of others. I am confident in their potential to meaningfully contribute to their next school environment.
As I have been speaking with admissions directors at the aforementioned schools, they have expressed with clarity how they recognize each student’s promise and preparation as the result of our exemplary and broad program, our creative and deeply dedicated faculty, and our success in allowing each individual to engage in learning and personal growth in a deeply personal way.
After progressing through a comprehensive curriculum that evolves intentionally over time, in which expectations expand and build upon past experiences, that enables students to work at a very high level with ease, it is in every student’s master plan to leave BCD filled with the promise of future success and continued fulfillment. We are privileged to have these outstanding schools eager to meet and engage with our students and their families. Their interest in our students reflects the quality of a Berkshire Country Day School education.
While a full and exciting second half of the year lies ahead, the faculty and I stand behind each of our students. We are prepared to offer our best efforts as we promote them and assist with the process as they contemplate and plan for the next step in their educational journey.
This is an incredibly impressive list of schools! I can speak from experience as the mom of a BCD “Lifer,” who’s gone on to meet with success at Loomis Chaffee School: BCD provides the essential building blocks of character and capability. Thank you to the faculty and administration who work tirelessly and enthusiastically to support our students. How lucky we are.
