It would mean so much to me to have all of our parents join us at a special event next Friday, December 11 from 6-8 p.m. to celebrate Fulfilling the Promise: The Capital Campaign for BCD. The caterer needs our final headcount tomorrow, so RSVP now: here
Fulfilling the Promise is BCD’s first formal campaign in many years and is raising funds for both the School’s endowment (and in particular our Endowment for Faculty Salaries) and the transformation of our facilities. The Board has acted with great care to plan and provide for future stability and innovation. A strategic planning process engaging hundreds of stakeholders in 2009 set a long-term vision for the school: distinct in program, adventurous in spirit, engaged in a changing world, and charted a course for financial health and sustainability. A subsequent master planning process in 2010-11 identified important facilities upgrades, some of which are being realized by with this Campaign’s transformation of Furey Hall into a new library & learning commons and music & performance room. The focus on the faculty and the facilities will impact the quality of each student’s experience at BCD for decades.
The cocktail party includes entertainment by our own Jon Suters and his band, hors d’oeuvres from Mezze, an open bar, plus a surprise presentation you won’t want to miss! My heartfelt thanks to our amazing team of volunteers which includes Ellen Boyd, Hilary Ferrone (chair), Bridget Hall-Wotkiewich, Bev Hosokawa, Natalie Johnsonius Neubert, Elizabeth Powell, Robin Seeley, and Suzannah Van Schaick with extra support from parents past and present including Judy Bates, David Hautzig, David Neubert, Carl Rusk, Lucie Stites, and Jon Suters.
I look forward to celebrating BCD’s many successes with you and sharing more about our future.
