First Graders began their year-long library journey by investigating the library’s traveling trunk. This trunk, which mysteriously appeared in library, contained a cryptic note, two boxes labeled “yes” and “no” and a bag of random, household objects. Careful inspection of the trunk’s decorations led us to believe that this trunk had been to (at least) Paris, Sydney, London and Florida. First graders decoded the instructions and sorted the items into the boxes based on how harmful they would be to library books. After discussing how we might take good care of our books, first graders browsed and selected some material to enjoy at home. Library books are due in about two weeks. Happy Reading!
