See the USA

We started See the USA two months ago. It was fun learning about the states that we traveled to. To start we were put into groups to travel across the states. We had to make our own decisions about what food and what hotel we wanted to stay in. Each group had a route and made up its own name. The class made a presentation to our parents and students at the school. To prepare for the presentation we made note cards on the state that we chose. We made billboards, posters, and pictures that we put on our display boards. People voted for which route they thought was the best. Route 10 won the game. Congratulations to Route 10. We had some good times and some bad times. Sometimes we lost money and sometimes we got money on the road.

New class for Spring—-Shop with Mr. Katz

Shop is really fun. We got started on a project on the first day. We made candle holders and learned how to use a press drill and other tools. Now we are making whistles.

UPCOMING:

We started to learn about Mexico.

Fourth Graders in Math have been exploring concepts in geometry. Last week, we drew, cut and manipulated shapes to determine congruence and point/line symmetry. Yesterday, students tried to figure out what kinds of shapes will tesselate, or form repeating patterns without any white (extra space).
