Did you know that:
1. Jackson Scott Kruse was born at 4:30 pm on Tuesday? 6 lbs,13 oz , 20″ – and, all are well!
2. Thanks to a generous donor, BCD’s ancient and enormous main boilers (serving five buildings) are being replaced this week with two small high-efficiency (97%!) boilers? Let the savings begin!
3. The speed limit on campus is 10 mph? It’s a lot slower than you think, and everyone’s keen attention to traffic safety is essential.
4. Those nifty stakes and rope beside Oakes Hall and the Band Room are helping maintain a berm for water flow away from our buildings?
5. The Ninth Grade has been in Paris and Barcelona for eight days? This signature trip is just one of the many ways the Ninth Grade year at BCD offers our students rare, relevant, and distinctive learning experiences.
6. The Fifth Grade has been in Rhode Island for four days? They are studying oceanography and the unique environment of a New England coastal area.
7. The Sixth Grade has been in Vermont for four days? They are participating in outdoor education activities and building self-confidence and group strength.
8. The new K-9 Arts Studios will be open to all from 5-7 PM next Thursday, Oct. 23? Students and Visual Arts faculty will lead us through the studios to view finished artworks and works-in-progress.
9. As is the case at most independent schools, the majority of new families learn about BCD from current and past families? Please spread the word about the terrific start to this year, our broad offering of exemplary academic and art programs, and our talented faculty.
