Today in the library, we brought our collection of stuffed penguins and had a penguin snuggle read! After each child got a penguin buddy, we shared Brenda Guiberson’s non-fiction picture book, The Emperor Lays An Egg. With artfully collaged illustrations by Joan Paley, this story describes the tag-team efforts of Emperor Penguin parents in raising their children. Each student also received a penguin coloring book to take home. We concluded with book browsing and checkout. Happy Reading!
