This week in the library, Kindergarteners explored books on the topic of friendship. Our favorite tale of the week is Fishing for Methusaleh by Roger Roth. In this story, two old friends who are constantly competing and bickering with one another, Olaf and Ivan, decide to compete in an ice fishing contest to catch the legendary fish, Methusaleh, who lurks below the local lake. Neither man has ever seen the fish, but in the end, they both put their differences aside and catch a glimpse of Methusaleh’s magic. Students also enjoyed coloring in velvet drawings of fish, in addition to book browsing and checkout. Happy Reading!
