Sixth grade is off to a fantastic start at Hulbert. After a smooth ride up to VT complete with a stop at a rather exciting rest area, Hulbert staff welcomed BCD and two other schools to camp. We moved into our cabin and played a few orientation games. Then we had a delicious lunch of grilled cheese, tomato soup, salad, slaw, and fruit. After lunch we split into groups with our Hulbert instructors for various team building activities. There was free recreation time around the camp before dinner time. We had jobs this evening helping to cook dinner and set up the dining room. Dinner was a chicken stew with biscuits, cranberry sauce, and salad with cookies for dessert. After dinner the instructors led the students on a trust night journey. The evening ended with some outdoor games in the dark and then it was off to the cabins.
