Dear Fifth Grade Parents,

Here’s a few pictures that I took before school on Halloween. A special thanks to Naomi for sending in delicious popcorn and to Joanne for the refreshing cider. Yum!

Just a few notes as we head into November…

1. The weather is getting colder now so please be sure your child has a coat each day.

2. The students are working on a joint library/history project. Each student has been randomly assigned an Egyptian god or goddess to research. They will do all the written work in library class, but will need to present their reports in costume on Wednesday, November 20. Please reinforce with your student that this should not be left to the last minute.

3. The students will have a major history exam on Egypt on the Monday (11/25) before Thanksgiving. I will give them a review sheet, but we will not spend a week reviewing in class as we did for the Mesopotamia test. Likely we will spend a period or two. Please be sure to check in with you child as we get closer to that time of the month.

3. Halloween candy will be permitted in Fifth Grade only on Monday and Tuesday. After that, I’ve told the kids they should not have candy in their lunch boxes for lunch or snack.

4. Please be sure to send in your theater and winter sports forms. I am still missing a bunch of these.

Thanks for all your support! I can’t believe we are almost a third of the way through the school year!
