Shira has spent many years in the world of education. She has been an Early Childhood Director, Curriculum writer and Pre-k and Kindergarten teacher. Prior to BCD, she spent eleven years as a head teacher of the PK classroom at Beit Rabban Day School. During this time period, she taught all aspects of curriculum in a progressive and inquiry-based, child-centered setting with a foundation in the Reggio Emilia Approach and Bank Street Constructivist Approach. As Early Childhood Director Shira worked in partnership with families and the administration to meet the social-emotional, cognitive, physical, and language needs of the children. She led professional development sessions and worked with the leadership team to further overall goals for the school.
