Maggie Farrell

Maggie joins BCD after eight years of teaching in international schools in various countries around the world, including Hong Kong, China, and Tanzania. Most recently, She taught Fifth Grade English/Language Arts and Social Studies at the American School Hong Kong.  Maggie has also taught at international schools in Zhuhai, China, and Moshi, Tanzania. While earning a Master of Professional Studies degree in Humanistic Multicultural Education and Human Services, she taught Fourth Grade in Chatham, NY Central School District. Maggie graduated with a BS in Early Childhood education from SUNY College at New Paltz where she was later honored in 2018 as the recipient of the Outstanding Graduate Award from the Department of Educational Studies and Leadership. While there, she was Captain of the Women’s Basketball Team.

Maggie creates opportunities for students to have agency in their learning; she is dedicated to teaching reading and writing, and helping learners become critical thinkers. She recently moved to the Berkshires with her husband, her young son Shane, and their dog Fergus.
