Faculty members at BCD cultivate confidence, excitement, and skills in students so that they can become creative learners and critical thinkers.  Our distinctive program and commitment to excellence engages and supports individuals who are passionate about teaching. These teachers encourage originality, model leadership, and impact each student in meaningful ways that extend well beyond the classroom.

Working collaboratively across divisions and disciplines, BCD faculty members are constantly looking for ways to improve the learning experience for their students and the teaching experience for themselves.

As we look back on the wonderful 2012/2013 school year and look ahead to the year to come, we are highlighting the work of newer faculty members who have made remarkable contributions to the school.

Sarah Cooke in Beginner 3s

Visitors to the B3 classroom this year were instantly immersed in Sarah Cooke’s world of warmth, engagement, and creativity.  As a class, the students explored the classroom, discussed projects, acted out stories, made up songs, and created incredible works of art.  They went on walks, mounted an art show in Chatham, baked bread, built a sailboat, and took care of a variety of plants and animals.

Mrs. Cooke is the first one to say that she had an amazing group of students in her B3 group, but the students and their families would argue that they are the lucky ones to have had Mrs. Cooke as a teacher this year.

Preschool is a busy place but you can keep up with the class here.
