I was completely enthralled by today’s First Grade play, “Stone Soup,” the culminating performance after working with Theater teacher Amy Brentano during the past trimester. Connected to their recent study of “Compassion,” the play was also a tribute to their teacher, Susan Frantz. From the scale of the production, to the costumes and student-painted sets, everything about the show was just right! The children were excited and performed beautifully as an ensemble, and their confidence, joy, and pride was palpable.
There have been many opportunities for students to display their mastery, expertise, competence, and poise during the past few weeks at Berkshire Country Day School. With gratitude to our remarkable and inspiring faculty, students have demonstrated their ability to share what they have learned in a variety of modes, through performances, presentations, project-based activities, research, and/or in writing. Highlights have included:
- The Fifth Grade Ancient Civilizations Showcase Assembly
- The Kindergarten Poetry Assembly
- The Sixth Grade Science Fair
- The Third Grade Biography Presentations
- The First Grade Young Authors’ Celebration
- The Lower School and Middle & Upper Schools’ Music Concerts
- The Drew Film Festival
- The Boy’s and Girl’s Lacrosse Teams
- The Seventh Grade History Fair
