Berkshire Country Day School is pleased and grateful to share new Merit Scholarship opportunities for Middle School enrollment beginning with the 2023-2024 academic year.

BCD seeks motivated, curious, and empathetic candidates applying for Grades 5-8, and has a specific focus in using the funds to support qualified and talented students with socioeconomic diversity. This scholarship opportunity is made possible by the generosity of anonymous donors.

Applicants are selected for admission based on their academic and extracurricular potential, as well as their interest in an independent school community that focuses on civic engagement. BCD will strive to award the greatest number of qualified candidates across the grades so as to grow enrollment in the Middle School while increasing geographic diversity across Western Massachusetts and Eastern New York. It will remain the purview of BCD Admissions that applicants are evaluated and the level of tuition assistance determined based on the application and financial aid processes. This is an exciting time at BCD and we look forward to meeting interested students and families.

Interested families should:

Visit www.berkshirecountryday.org to learn more about our mission, values, and academic program.

Email Melissa Kruse, Director of Admissions and Student Life, at mkruse@berkshirecountryday.org to signal interest in arranging a visit and applying for this opportunity in Grades 5-8.

Applicants will submit a completed application including a recommendation from a community leader addressing the candidate’s interest in civics/community engagement, as well as financial aid forms for review by the Admissions Committee. This is the same process for fall enrollment or January (mid-year) enrollment.

Accepted students will be supported with the Merit Scholarship through the duration of their enrollment at BCD.
