Head of School Search: BCD Community Invited to Weigh In
Feedback helps create position description
April 8, 2026
In 2025, Mary Warner informed the Board of Trustees that her five year tenure as Head of School at Berkshire Country Day School will conclude on June 30, 2027. The Head of School is collaborating closely with the President of the Board of Trustees, the Executive Committee, and the entire Board of Trustees for a planned transition focussed on stability and continuity.
As a first step in the important work to identify BCD’s next Head of School, the Board of Trustees has retained Carney Sandoe & Associates to spend time on campus, meeting with students, faculty, staff, parents, and trustees in order to understand the needs of our community and the school. This work will include a comprehensive Community Survey and an in-person campus visit this month. The importance of the feedback in both the visit and the survey cannot be understated: together, it will help identify the opportunities and challenges ahead for BCD as well as the qualifications and experiences that will be important in BCD’s next Head of School. This feedback will inform the position description and outline the characteristics sought in the next Head of School.
Over the fifteen remaining months in the Head of School’s tenure, the Board of Trustees will partner with the leadership team and the faculty and staff of the School to make BCD ever stronger as we move forward through this transition. The future remains bright for BCD and Brook Farm Preschool built on the foundational progress of the last five years.
