Leigh was inspired to become a teacher in high school when she had mentors she became close to and admired, who helped her discover she was a natural with children. Since then, she has been driven to contribute to positive learning environments in the classroom and as an administrator. She started her teaching career at an international school in San Francisco, then spent four years at the Windhoek International School in Namibia, where she initially taught and then became the curriculum coordinator. Leigh continued in her role as curriculum coordinator at an international school in Brussels, Belgium. She spent two years as the lower school head at an inner-city public charter school in the Boston area, and also served as the lower school division director at the International School of Boston, Cambridge, MA, for eight years. She is delighted to have returned to the Berkshires, where she lived with her family as a teenager. She enjoys photography, kayaking, cooking, humor, creativity, and being with the people she loves.
