Position:     Development Associate
Reports to: Director of the Annual Fund & Special Events
Position Status: Part-time (20 hours per week)

The Development Associate will provide administrative support for the School’s annual fundraising programs, manage the fundraising database and donor recognition activities, and assist with planning several annual community events. They will be aware of and assist with all aspects of the School’s development efforts, including the annual fund and the annual gala, and will work closely with volunteers to accomplish successful results.

The Development Associate will work collaboratively with the Director of the Annual Fund and Special Events, Head of School, and other administrators, employees, and volunteers. This position requires someone with strong communication skills, positive attitude, ability to multi-task, and experience with Excel and Word.

Required education and experience:

  • Two years of college course work or associate’s degree; bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • Two years’ experience in non-profit fund development
  • Fundraising database experience is a plus, as is graphic design, knowledge of social media, and a history of working on event planning.

Extended Day Teacher (Part-time)

Berkshire Country Day School, a PK-9 independent school located in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, is accepting applications for an Extended Day Teacher position for the 2017-18 school year. Extended Day is our optional, daily after school program for students in grades PreK- 6th grades.

Qualified applicants will:

  • be experienced working with elementary aged children
  • be energetic and engaging
  • enjoy leading activities, working with small groups and connecting personally with children
  • be reliable and able to work collaboratively
  • have a sense of professionalism in dealing with students, colleagues, teachers and parents.
  • have excellent references about character, work with kids and reliability.

This position is daily Monday through Friday from 3pm-5:30pm.

Substitute Teachers

Berkshire Country Day School, a PK-9 independent school located between Lenox and Stockbridge, is ready to expand our team! We are interviewing potential substitute teachers for the 2017-18 school year and beyond. Typically, substitute positions are daily or short-term tenures, but they are also a great way to experience teaching across multiple age groups and/or subject areas at a terrific school with great kids.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate an ability to mentor, motivate, and engage students. Previous classroom teaching experience is desired, but not required.
