As we develop our relationships with our neighbors, area organizations, and individuals in the Berkshires, I write to share information about a TEDxBerkshires event at Kripalu that two BCD parents, Jamie and Ethan Berg, are involved with. Past parent, Dr. Jennifer Michaels, will be one of the speakers.
Regarding the Bergs connection to TEDx, they have been fans and attendees for years at various ideas festivals. Mark Liponis, the medical director of Canyon Ranch, and Ethan were talking a few years back about how amazing TED was and wouldn’t it be great to have them do it some time in the Berkshires. The Bergs approached TED about their willingness to have an east coast conference and were told that they were definitely keeping the conference in California. A couple of years later, TED began considering allowing people to independently organize local TEDx programs, and that led to Mark and the Bergs getting a license to host TEDxBerkshires. They have organized a few of them in recent years.
