I just completed my weekly meeting with school psychologist John Evans, who shared the following great story with me. While enjoying dinner last Saturday with the former director of the Counseling Department at Williams College (and a former BCD parent) and the principal of a highly regarded, large public high school in the Berkshires and their spouses, the conversation turned to school culture.
“You guys have a great school culture at BCD,” shared the principal. “I always know a BCD kid. I don’t have to look for them, they look for me, and they always look me in the eye and shake my hand. They always say hello and ask how I’m doing!”
It was wonderful to hear this. I’m so proud of all of our students at BCD, and I am hopeful that you’ll join me and others in telling the stories about our school culture, our community, and our students.
