Subject: Awesome Open Studios!!!

Good Evening, Paul.

Just wanted to let you know that we ALL thoroughly enjoy the Open Art Studios experience this evening!  Our son was so enthused on our ride home and said, “I hope we don’t have to wait a whole year to do that again!”  I have never created anything using a potter’s wheel, and it was AWESOME to BE there for his first hands-on exposure to this Art medium!

I was and am BLOWN away by how Awesome & Inspiring this night was for our family.

THANK YOU.

Re: Awesome Open Studios!!!

Dear Parent of a Fourth Grader,

IMG_4946

Thank YOU for the awesome note.  It’s so exciting to hear your son’s feedback and to know that the “open studios” format provided such a stimulating and positive experience for all.  This was the vision:

To provide opportunities to see all of everyone’s work in the studios where it was created rather than view a couple of select pieces late in the year in a super-market-aisle-style show in the gym.

1

  • To have the parents, student artists, and the teaching artists all involved and all in attendance to talk about, reflect on, and affirm the students, the work, and BCD’s dynamic Arts program.
  • To provide everyone with a chance to meet and speak with the artist educators, and to offer our student artists with introductions to the artists and mediums they will be working with going forward.

  • IMG_4948To celebrate the arts and the collective accomplishments of everyone in the studio contexts where everyone has been and will be creating.
  • To reinforce for our children that they are dynamic, creative, and capable individuals.
  • To thank our talented, positive, and engaging artist educators.
  • To be inspired!

Thank you again for all of the ways you support BCD and for this note which so clearly expresses how this is working for your son!  And, please join me in thanking Sasha Sicurella, Ben Evans, Phil Knoll, and Max Spitzer for the evening and their inspiring teaching and creativity!

Regards,

Paul
